So I normally wait to show the comic pages, but I wanted to test something out with this one. The writer wants certain panels to be the camera filming the characters and I thought I would test out actually animating them.
The writer doesn't think that it's a good idea because some of the comic pages that we list on for ads say that any form of animation makes it an animation and no longer a comic.
I was hoping to be able to do mild animation with certain panels from time to time, but I might just have to post them here once in a while.
But let me know what you think, if it stinks in comparison to the non animated on ( [link]) then let me know and I'll stop with my foolish madwoman ideas.
Well, it seems I'm the first one to say that it's too much, at least all over. Could you tune the difference between the stripes down to as it is on Suzie's skin, as in, barely noticeable? Then the animation would add some. And I'd like an up/down jitter better that the linear down movement, but that's a matter of taste (said by someone who repaired TV sets as a job many years ago).

You weren't the only one who agreed that it was a bit much. Many others felt the same way on zombieranchcomic.com and we went with a non animated version when I posted it: [link]
Yeah... Seen that. Also read the whole thing by now. And - the "commercial" page looked great with the animation.
But I think I better step back from that. To be honest, I had some bad dreams lately and figured that maybe some of the not so light hearted web comics I recently read may not be good for my mental health. Or at least for my mental wellness. I may be back in a few months and try again, who knows...

On further investigation my fears about it no longer being considered a "comic" are unfounded (except perhaps to some extremist views).
However, I still do want to get a sense of whether or not it helps the presentation, detracts from it, or doesn't seem to make a difference to most people. So, hopefully some more comments will crop up.
I have to disagree with Clint. I like the subtle animation of "fliming" at first I didn't even notice it. I think it adds an intresting touch but either way I like this comic.
