So for Christmas/birthday, my husband and his family helped get me a Cintiq. Yaaaay! It's so nice! I had a small Intuos 3 for years that my mom gave me. It was great as a starter pen tablet when I was first learning to use pen tablets on programs like Photoshop. After working at Neopets.com and on the college's tablets, I soon realized that I needed something a bit more professional.

When interning for Nickelodeon's Virtual World Group, I got to see the Wacom Cintiq up close. At first I thought it was a second monitor with how they had their desks set up, but soon realized it was an interactive screen pen tablet! Before this, I thought about buying another tablet (like another intuos) and then maybe seeing about saving up for another monitor. With the Cintiq, I combine the two needs!

So ~drfeh/writer of Zombie Ranch spent many hours hunting for a Cintiq on Ebay until he was able to snag one at a good price rather than the $999 that wacom.com offers.

It's so nice and have so many things that I want to draw on it, but haven't had much time between visiting my mom, Disneyland, Yakmala Meeting, Gift exchanges, and Christmas with my husband's family...I haven't had much time to sit and draw on my computer.

So Finals are next week and what do I do? I update ~racheldesade's website. Why? Because that's what I do when I stress out. I like to find something that will take my attention completely away from my troubles, and working with code does that easily for me.

My project is done, I just worry about the grade I'll get. I know...I know...a few of you will say "It's okay to get a B, miss A student". But I can't help it, I'm a Capricorn and worry about stuff like that. Everything has to be just right and in order, and that order is getting an A.

So ~racheldesade is an amazing seamstress and is considering going to a college that has a focus in Fashion. This is a nervous choice for her and like most art fields, you worry about what if you don't make it or if it's a waste of time. I still feel that way with my art, but so many have told me that I had a decent amount of talent - I don't think I'm a genius, but at least I've gone beyond drawing like a 14 year old. And if you're 14 and you're offended because you make amazing work...well you're in the genius class more than likely.

But I like to lend a hand in anything that I feel has a possibility in going somewhere and I want to look proudly back and say "I was a part of that". Like being an extra in the first Spiderman movie, and in the Second season of "The Guild". And a few other things.

So I caved in an got Poser to help me model poses for my characters on Zombie Ranch. For the longest time I didn't because I knew it would slow my computer down.

It all started while trying to draw the latest page of Zombie Ranch. I got the flu, the latest update of Wordpress gave me hell when uploading it - causing glitches on the site, the Zombie Ranch forums were acting up, the holidays, and then I had to draw the next page on top of that. I went hunting for reference images to help me draw faster, but the problem was that I had to draw all 3 characters together in a panel.

And they weren't going to happily be standing side by side. NO! Suzie needs to be kneeling, while Frank is standing on her left side, while Zeke is standing in the background with a Zombie Catcher (zom-catcher for short).

So I decided to take the advice of some old friends and go out and get Poser. And I was surprised that it actually runs okay. Might be because I just have the basic elements and no fancy addons downloads, but I don't really need all that.

Now I'll never make work like , but so far it really has been helping as a quick model reference when I can't find reference models on DA.
